1980 - 1981

Brian Stevens shares with us this 1980 video from the Rummel vs. Ehret football Prep Playoff game in the Superdome.  It includes Coach Easton Roth, Coach Doyle, Coach Ryan, Doc Russo, and current coach Jay Roth who played quarterback for the team which was undefeated in regular season play.

An eighth grade program was added to the traditional 9th through 12th grade curriculum.

The Genesian Players produced The Matchmaker, The Butler Did it, and The Wizard of Oz, The Final Dress Rehearsal, The Ledge, This Property is Condemned, The Monkey's Paw, and Sorry, Wrong Number during the academic year.

The baseball team won the State Championship.

Glenn Haydel (132 pounds) was State Runner-Up in wrestling. Nat Belloni (138 pounds) took 5th Place.  Greg Cloutet at 185 pounds won the 6th Place position.

 

The formerly open area under the senior wing was used to create a student mall. A weight room was added to the field house.

Baseball

Raiders, under coach Larry Schneider won the state championship.
