The area under the senior wing was enclosed
to include a student mall. A weight room was added to the field house. The baseball team won the District Prep Championship but lost in the state championship game to Jesuit with a
score of 3-2, On the wrestling team at the State match Thad Elmer (105 pounds) placed 4th and 126 pound
Richie Chaix 126 earned 4th Place The Rummel
Raiders played in the last game at Tulane Stadium on November 1, 1979 against De La Salle. The last point ever scored
in the stadium was by Rummel placekicker Gary Boudreaux. Tulane Stadium was demolished in 1980. |
