"Mr. O'Brien's Club Tipperary" was
a prohibition era speakeasy in the 600 block of St. Peter's Street. The "password was "Storm's Brewin".
In 1933, B. H. "Pat" O'Brien moved his "club" across the street and called it "Pat O'Brien's".
By 1942 , in need of expansion due to its popularity, the bar moved down the block to 718 St. Peter Street with its lovely
courtyard and indoor bar rooms. The famous "Hurricane" was born during WWII when whiskey was hard to come by but
rum was easily available and hearkens back to the roots of Pat O'Brien's "Storm's Brewin".
