Croatian immigrant Sam Uglesich opened his first restaurant
on South Rampart Street in 1924. In 1927, he moved it to 1238 Baronne Street. Sam's son Anthony along with his wife Gail
ran the beloved neighborhood restaurant at 1238 Baronne Street until they closed their door on May 6, 2005 (but they left
the door open for a re-opening).
