 On February 26 Isaac Delgado penned a letter to the City Park Board of Commissioners expressing his wish to build a facility to house the Art Association. Park Board member and Delgado friend P. A. Lelong (for whom the road leading to the Delgado Museum of Art/New Orleans Museum of Art is named) suggested that it be located in the park.  The museum opened on December 16, 1911.
