PLAY ELEVEN-INNING TIE. Cleveland and New Orleans Fail to Reach
a Decision.
New Orleans, La., April 3. -- Determined to give Fred Miller. Mobile's southpaw, on whom he has
an option, a final test, Lajole nearly subjected Cleveland to its first defeat today. Miller passed nine men in three and
a third innings, made a balk and a wild pitch, and hit a man, the Pelicans scoring six runs, while Cleveland could get only
six before darkness ended the game in a tip in the eleventh.
1812 The territory of Orleans became the 18th state and later became known as Louisiana.
